The second interview I conducted took place with a coworker of mine. Again, another confident and outgoing person who was more than willing to talk with me. Once I had introduced myself to him and I explained my project to him, I asked him “What does home mean to you?”
Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and I love visiting them back home. Though one of the most influential people in my life has never even set foot inside my home. If it wasn’t for my high school advisor I probably wouldn’t have graduated. He made sure I kept up on my work and gave me the guidance I needed in order to succeed. The guidance that I sadly wasn't getting from my own family. I spent a lot of time speaking with him about my feelings and he helped me sort through them and I always felt safe and cared for when I was with him. His classroom was a home away from home and I am so grateful for the effort that he put into making me the confident person I am today.
